Basic Income Grant Implementation on the Table for South Africa

With the country’s unemployment rate soaring since the start of the lockdown and a million jobs being lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Social Development is now saying government is looking at a new basic income grant for South Africa. Isobel Frye, a director at the Studies in Poverty and Inequality Institute speaks to #eNCA for more on this.
