Yesterday, Zuma delivered the presidency budget vote for the 2014/15 financial year. Service delivery will be the priority of the government’s programme over the next year. Zuma emphasised that it is not only the speed with which services are delivered but the manner in which public servants deliver the services. Zuma said the Batho Pele [People First] citizen care programme was being revitalised and would be mainstreamed in every department in order to improve performance and services to the public. He also emphasised the importance of building relationships with the public and therefore stated the presidential izimbizo would return to promote two-way communication with the public.
