End to platinum strike in sight

The seniority of the Labour Court and the desperation of Amcu and the platinum producers might lead to a resolution that could end Amcu’s 17 week strike in the platinum sector.

This according to labour law analyst Tony Healy,  from Tony Healy and Associates.

On Tuesday Amcu and the platinum producers, Lonmin, Ango Platinum and Implants agreed to an unprecedented move to enter into negotiations mediated by the Labour Court.

The negotiations started yesterday and are set to continue until tomorrow.
